In mid-September 2007, Ana Samarjian embarked on a daring and noble 10-month adventure to the country of Ghana on a distinguished Fulbright Scholarship to study malaria’s effect on this country and the sub-Saharan region of Africa as a whole.  However, Ana and Netting Nations’ involvement is not going to be that of bystanders—rather, we are also seizing this opportunity to launch Netting Nations’ “Net Courier” Program.

The “Net Courier” program is a net distribution campaign between Netting Nations and various international universities, whose students volunteer to participate in this real world, life-changing endeavor.  Launched in September 2007, Netting Nations has thus far partnered with the University of Ghana, which is located in the capital city of Accra.  Led by Netting Nations’ Ana Samarjian, University of Ghana students will assess and analyze malaria’s health and socioeconomic impact on the people of Ghana, and then organize and execute effective net distribution campaigns by directly educating people on malaria and delivering nets to those most in need, particularly pregnant women and children.

On or around January 15, 2008, approximately 1,000 mosquito nets will be delivered to Ana at the University of Ghana.  However, many, many more ITNs are needed as this is the height of the rainy season and, thus, when malaria is at its worst.  Please help us make the Net Courier program a success by donating to this noble cause.
